The Student Government Association [SGA] members and Night of Service co-chairs, Brooklynn McPherson and Abigail Michaels, accept a $500 donation from the Elizabeth Guardian Angels representatives Stephanie Squibb and Robin Poirier. The funds will be used to purchase supplies for the annual EF Night of Service, including bags for chemotherapy patients at Hillman Cancer Center, treat bags for residents at Oasis at Elizabeth, and activity bags for teen patients at Western Psychiatric Institute.

All the items will be decorated and assembled at the EF Night of Service on May 6.

The EF Christmas Card Challenge winner is junior Sabella Molinaro. Among a flurry of wonderful cards submitted from all the schools in the district, hers was the star on the tree. Director of Technology, Mrs. Alison DeMarco, posed with Sabella in our Guidance Office.

Elizabeth Forward High School junior Sabella Molinaro has earned national recognition with her recent publication in the Journal of Emergency Medical Services (JEMS), one of the most respected publications in the field. Her article, published this past October, marks an impressive achievement for a high school student and reflects her dedication to public safety and service.

Molinaro is widely regarded as a diligent and conscientious student, consistently demonstrating the drive and professionalism that set her apart in her academic and career pursuits. Her family and educators are commending her exceptional work and her commitment to making a meaningful impact in the community.

Sabella’s publication showcases not only her passion for emergency services but also the remarkable opportunities she is creating for her future. Her work brings pride to the EFHS community and highlights the influence young people can have in professional fields.

Elizabeth Forward High School 2026 senior, Brodie Weagley has been named a Commended Student in the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program. 

About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise.  Commended Students placed among the top 50,000 scorers of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2026 competition by taking the 2024 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT)

“Those being named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success,” commented a spokesperson for NMSC.  “These students represent a valuable national resource; recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation.  We hope that this recognition will help broaden their educational opportunities and encourage them as they continue their pursuit of academic success.”

Elizabeth Forward High School is proud to announce that senior Nathan Pozzuto has been named a Semifinalist in the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Competition!

He is being recognized for his outstanding performance on the 2025 PSAT, and he is joining an elite group of students that represent the top 1% of high school seniors across the nation.

The NMSC® announced the names of more than 16,000 Semifinalists in the 71st annual National Merit Scholarship Program. According to a press release from NMSC®, “These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 6,930 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $26 million that will be offered next spring. To be considered for a Merit Scholarship® award, Semifinalists must fulfill several requirements to advance to the Finalist Level of the competition. About 95 percent of the Semifinalists are expected to attain Finalist standing, and approximately half of the Finalists will win a National Merit Scholarship, earning the Merit Scholar® title.”

Amy Kotzev, PHEAA’s Higher Education Access Partner in Allegheny County, will present information on the financial aid application process, what types of aid are available for students, and strategies to start thinking about affordability before getting ready to apply for post-secondary school admission. This event will be held virtually, and registration is required to attend. We will have an in-person event in January. Time will be built into the presentation to allow you to ask any questions you may have regarding the financial aid process.

To apply for your parking permit for campus, you must bring:

1. Student Driver Application 
2. Proof of Insurance
3. Proof of Registration for the vehicle you will be parking
4. A copy of your driver's license (note: we are unable to make a copy for you at this time).
5. A check for $15 made out to EFSD with your student's name on the memo line

These are first-come, first-served.

You must submit all passenger forms before any additional students ride in your car. 

You can bring your completed application packet and required materials to the press box between 9 AM and 2 PM, Monday through Friday, to Mrs. Curran.

The Elizabeth Forward Alumni and Friends Association and Elizabeth Forward High School proudly announced the Class of 2025 Elite 20, honoring exceptional seniors and the educators and staff who inspired them. The annual recognition banquet was held on May 8, 2025, and highlighted the deep connections between students and the mentors who shaped their journeys.

Launched in 2013, the Elite 20 program recognizes seniors who exemplify Academics, Leadership, Character, and Service. Selected by senior-class teachers, these students are then given the opportunity to honor one K–12 staff member who had the most profound impact on their lives.

Each student delivered a brief speech at the banquet, sharing heartfelt reflections and expressing gratitude to the person who made a difference. In a touching moment, one student recognized their school bus driver, who had gone above and beyond and had become “like family.” Students and the person who impacted them both receive certificates in recognition of the event.

The evening served as a powerful reminder of the lasting relationships formed within the Elizabeth Forward School District. The mutual respect and admiration between students and their honorees were clear to all who attended.
